Opportunity for redevelopment of vacant land within Ashington. This was part of the Hirst Miner's Welfare recreation ground site. A relatively high-density scheme is considered appropriate given the location. The site was previously allocated for 92 homes in the Wansbeck Local Plan but the SHLAA identifies a lower indicate yield of 60 homes following reappraisal.
