The site is included in the Crawley Borough Local Plan 2023-2040 Housing Trajectory. The site previously benefitted from the now expired planning permission CR/2019/0322/FUL for 'Demolition of existing buildings and structures and comprehensive redevelopment to provide a new care home with associated landscaping and access works (amended plans, noise assessment and flood risk assessment received).' The existing structures on the site were demolished during 2025 via the prior notification procedure under reference CR/2025/0321/DEM. The maximum figure of 33 represents the 'dwelling' equivalent of the 60 bedroom facility which was permitted under CR/2019/0322/FUL. The minimum figure of 0 reflects the fact that an all-C2 scheme may be acceptable.
