Development Description: Currently proposed as site allocation AL/BE3 in the Submission Local Plan 2021 for residential development providing 22-25 residential units (in addition to the 24 new dwellings already granted approval at this site - see planning history 12/03130/EIAMJ); the Inspector's initial findings following the relevant Submission Local Plan Examination hearing (held in the summer of 2022) suggest policy AL/BE 3 be deleted and cross reference be made instead to the Neighbourhood Plan Allocation SSP3 in the made Benenden Neighbourhood Development Plan October 2021 for up to 50 residential units; and Extant planning permission 23/03274/FULL: Demolition of all former hospital buildings, 6 no. residential dwellings (High View, Millfield, Nos. 1 and 2 Mills Cottages, Owlscott and Mayscott) existing tennis courts, car park and vegetation; Erection of 87 no. residential dwellings (including affordable homes), relocated car park, new public open spaces, sustainable urban drainage system and landscaping including biodiversity areas and play areas.
